Giraffe Centre & David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

Start early to see and hand feed the endangered Rothschild giraffe. You’ll learn about how threatened they are and the breeding program that’s keeping the species alive. And as well as the tall ones, you can try to spot some of the smallest too, like the dikdik, on the nature trail.

Then head over to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for the lunchtime feeding experience with young elephant calves and abandoned baby rhino. And hear more about the work to keep them safe from poachers.

One recent notable visitor has been US First Lady Melania Trump.

Both of these tours are wheelchair accessible, with some help required at the elephant sanctuary.

Karen Blixen Museum & National Park

Time for a bite to eat yourself at the Karen Blixen museum home. The Danish author lived in Kenya in the 1920s when she and her husband farmed coffee.

She’s most famous, of course, for her autobiographical account of her time here Out of Africa.

After lunch spend a few hours on an afternoon game drive through the National Park for more animal adventures and see what animals you can spot hunting for their evening meal.

It’s home to lion and rhino, as well as baboon and giraffe. The park also boasts abundant birdlife.
