Take a relaxing boat tour round these scenic lakes, marvel at the stunning setting with acacia trees lining the banks.

And look out for the sizeable hippo population semi-submerged beneath the water. Their eyes will follow you everywhere!

You shouldn’t get too close – hippos are far more deadly than a lion or even a shark.

Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake, while its near neighbour Oloiden is an alkali soda lake and is always a flamingo attraction.

But both these lakes are a haven for many bird species and it’s a great place to spot fish eagles, cormorants and pelican.

We’ll stop off at Elsamere – the former home of George and Joy Adamson of ‘Born Free’ fame where you can enjoy the local wildlife as you have lunch.

We also have an option of visiting the Crescent Island sanctuary where you can see hippo and giraffe as well as plentiful smaller land mammals.

A great way to start or end your Kenyan safari.
