This tour gives guests the chance to meet some of Africa's most threatened species and learn about a little about Kenya's colonial past.

Elephant Orphanage

Enjoy a tiny bit of a lie in today for this tour so you can enjoy meeting the young orphaned elephants and rhino at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust sanctuary. You have only a brief window to feed the elephants, so don’t be late.

You have just one hour between 11am and noon to interact with the rhino orphan and elephants when they come in for their mud bath as well as their feed. You can find out about the extensive fostering program the Trust operates, that helps sustain the orphans until they can be released back into a conservation area in Tsavo.

US First Lady Melania Trump has been a recent visitor.

Nairobi Giraffe Centre

After lunch you can move over to the Nairobi Giraffe Centre to meet the Endangered Rothschild giraffe.

There are fewer than 2,000 of these animals left in the wild and the centre has a breeding program to increase the gene pool.

There’s an elevated viewing platform where you can hand feed the giraffe and check out their amazing blue tongues.

Accessibility

Disabled guests can enjoy both tours. At the elephant sanctuary you will need to be manoeuvred over the steps to get a close up experience and you will have no problems meeting the giraffe from the ground level. Hungry beasts, they are more than happy to come to you with a giraffe snack in your hand.

 A really fun day out
