They say elephants never forget and a visit to Amboseli will likewise be unforgettable too.
Beneath the snow capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest mountain – see groups of the world’s largest land mammal roam across the dusty plains of Amboseli.
Watch the dust devils twist across the sands while you sit back and enjoy a relaxing sundowner.
Amboseli National Park lies in a low rainfall area but its swamps make it a fantastic centre for bird spotting with 400 recorded species.
Flocks of flamingo are also regularly seen here.
As well as Amboseli’s large elephant population the 392 sq km park has lions, cheetah and Cape buffalo as well as blue wildebeest.
We suggest a leisurely drive down from the hectic capital Nairobi and spend a few days unwinding here before returning to the city or continuing your break down on the coast either on the white sands of Diani or the historic port city of Mombasa.
Both have even more delights to uncover.
